We recently had the honour of partnering with Ferrari Maserati of Vancouver to unveil the brand new Ferrari 812 Superfast.
The 812 Superfast’s V12 engine is the most powerful naturally aspirated production car engine ever made, boasting 789HP, a top speed of 221MPH and a 0-62mph acceleration time of 2.9 seconds. It’s safe to say the car lives up to its name!
We were thrilled to take part in this event and our Executive Chef Sekihata designed a completely custom menu to celebrate the occasion. We wanted to showcase West Coast elegance combined with classic Italian luxury ingredients to suit the event.
Chef immediately knew he wanted to source the famed Italian ‘DaVinci’ caviar for the event, which is a rare caviar harvested from the Adriatic Sturgeon, the only species of Sturgeon still found naturally in the Adriatic Sea. It is produced and harvested sustainably by Calvisius Caviar, in the small town of Calvisano, Italy.
We served this caviar from a custom-made ice bowl studded with roses, and accompanied it with classic buckwheat blinis, creme fraiche and chives. Of course, we felt we needed to also feature the King of Cheeses – parmigiano reggiano DOP. We sourced an entire wheel, hollowed it out and served it with classic accompaniments.
Lastly, we served a number of special canapes and desserts, including a smoked chocolate and caramel verrine with Ferrari red raspberry gelee and flowers.
